These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the EpicStoriez website and the purchase of our products and services, provided by Epic Projects, Lda., Portuguese company registration (NIPC) 519565053, registered at Rua Vasco da Gama, N.º 20 C, 2830-365 Barreiro (Barreiro e Lavradio, Barreiro, Setúbal), Portugal ("EpicStoriez"). By creating an account or making a purchase, you accept these terms.
1. The service
EpicStoriez creates personalized illustrated children's books, generated using artificial intelligence from a photo and the answers given in the creation wizard. The result always includes a digital eBook; optionally, a printed book and/or personalized products (t-shirts, sweatshirts, mugs, posters) through the Epic Shop.
2. User account
You need an account to complete a purchase. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity carried out through your account. You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a legal guardian, to use the service.
3. Pricing and payment
Prices shown on the site include VAT at the applicable legal rate and are expressed in euros. Payment is processed securely by our payments partner; EpicStoriez never sees or stores your card details. We reserve the right to change prices at any time, with no retroactive effect on already-confirmed purchases.
4. Creation, revisions, and approval
After purchase, the story and illustrations are generated automatically. You have the right to request changes through the revision panel before giving final approval of the book. Production of the physical book (where applicable) only begins after that approval — review the result carefully, since the text and images will appear exactly as approved in the final product.
5. MyStoriez+ (subscription)
The MyStoriez+ monthly subscription is currently marked "Coming soon" and cannot yet be purchased. Once available, its own subscription terms (automatic renewal, how to cancel, and the effects of cancellation) will apply, will be communicated before launch, and will become part of these Terms.
6. Right of withdrawal (consumer rights under Portuguese/EU law)
Under Portuguese Decree-Law No. 24/2014, you generally have the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days, without needing to state any reason.
Exception applicable to our products: all EpicStoriez products — the eBook, the printed book, and Epic Shop items — are made to measure and according to the consumer's specifications (the avatar, name, and story are unique to your child). Under article 17(c) of Decree-Law No. 24/2014 (which transposes article 16(c) of Directive 2011/83/EU), the right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalized. By approving your book or completing a personalized order, you acknowledge and expressly accept this exception.
In the specific case of the eBook (digital content not supplied on a tangible medium), by starting the download/access before the 14-day period has elapsed, with your prior and express consent, you also lose the right of withdrawal, under article 17(m) of the same law.
This exception does not affect your rights in the event of a defective product, one damaged in transit, or one delivered by our error — see the following section and our Shipping and Returns Policy.
7. Legal warranty and defects
The legal conformity warranty under Decree-Law No. 84/2021 (2 years for movable goods) applies to any manufacturing defect or damage occurring in transit, even for a personalized product. Contact us at info@epicstoriez.com with photos of the issue and we will resolve it as quickly as possible — reprint, reshipment, or refund, as applicable.

9. Content you upload (photos)
By uploading a photo, you guarantee that you have the right to use it (it is yours, of a family member under your legal responsibility, or you have the authorization of the person shown in it) and that its content is lawful and appropriate. EpicStoriez may refuse to process images that infringe third-party rights or applicable law.
10. Intellectual property
The software, design, and EpicStoriez brand belong to us. The final book/product generated for you is yours for personal, non-commercial use (gifting, printing for your own use, sharing with family). You may not resell, mass-redistribute, or commercially use the generated content without our written authorization.
11. Limitation of liability
We provide the service with due care and diligence, but, to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages resulting from the use of the site or products, except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that Portuguese law grants you, as a consumer, on a mandatory basis.
12. Dispute resolution
In the event of a consumer dispute, you may turn to an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) entity — see the list of entities on the Portal do Consumidor (Portugal's official consumer portal) — or to the European Online Dispute Resolution Platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Portuguese law. For any dispute not resolved through an alternative resolution channel, the competent court is that of the consumer's domicile, whenever they qualify as a consumer under the law.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms at any time; the date at the top of this page shows the last update. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
