How does an AI-powered personalized book work? Full guide

How is a personalized book made with AI, step by step? In short: you upload a photo, AI creates an avatar in seconds, you choose or write the story, you review the result, and you get the finished book — as an ebook, a physical copy, or both.

Step 1 — The avatar in 30 seconds

You upload a clear photo, face fully visible and facing the camera, without sunglasses or hats covering the face. In about 30 seconds, our AI generates a personalized avatar — the preview is always free, no account needed.

Step 2 — The story

Here you have two options: let us create it automatically from the theme you choose, or write the story, title, and back-cover text yourself. You can have up to 5 characters in total, with at least 1 and at most 2 as main characters.

Step 3 — The illustrations

Every page is illustrated with the avatar (of the child, or whoever you choose) built right into the adventure — it's not an avatar pasted over a generic image, it's the actual character inside the scene, with the same visual continuity from the first page to the last.

Step 4 — The revisions

Every book includes 2 free revisions. We work hard to minimize errors with our advanced AI model, but if any page doesn't come out the way you expected, you can request an adjustment right on that page.

Step 5 — The book at home (or on your phone)

You choose the format: a digital ebook for $10, or the ebook + hardcover physical book bundle for $39.99. Your 2nd book always comes with a 20% discount.

What about the original photo?

For privacy and GDPR compliance, the original photo is deleted right after the avatar is created — we only keep the avatar, never the photo. We go into detail on this in our article about privacy and safety.
